Killing enemies means you'll gain experience and that experienced, when enough is collected, is transformed into a higher rank. The higher the rank, the more perks will be available: better equipment, more soldiers to command, air strikes, etc.

No matter if you're playing the single player campaign or an online match with people and bots, the AI will always surprise you. As the enemy soldiers will adapt to your fighting techniques, you will also have to change your style in order to survive.
